Rolando is an American visual artist, activist, arts advocate, and independent curator. 

Rolando Chang Barrero is a South Florida native born in Coconut Grove. He has a BFA from the School of Art Institute of Chicago, he has also attended the Oxbow School of Art, Penland School of Crafts, and has participated in various internships with prominent visual artists, performance artists, papermakers, and filmmakers.

Rolando is the owner and curator of The Box Gallery, ActivistArtistA Gallery, Rolando Chang Barrero Fine Art,   founder and chairman of the Florida Arts Association and Art Synergy. He serves as director ofThe Boynton Beach Art District and is a member of theCultural Council of Palm Beach, LULA (Lake Worth Arts) and ArtServe in Broward County, Florida, and supports many grassroots efforts in the arts.


Currently, Rolando is the lead artist for the Kinetic Community Project. He will contribute his diverse creative, leadership and marketing skills to commit to keeping the project focused on its completion and showcase at the Feb., 1-3, 2019 International Kinetic Art Exhibit and Symposium.
And,
Volunteer exhibitions curator at Compass Community Center.

Achievements and Honors 

A Congressional Letter of Commendation, The Edwar L. Ryerson Fellowship, The Sony Award for Video,9 Intriguing People of South Florida’s Arts Scene, Out50Ten Best Visual Artists in Palm Beach County, Best Art Walk, and Best Art Exhibition.
